Making your building’s old concrete look new

For business owners and commercial property managers, keeping properties well-maintained structurally and gorgeous. But as time goes on, the elements begin to wage war against them. External elements like weather, pollutants, and general wear and tear can significantly degrade the look of a building.

If you need help restoring the look of your old concrete and keeping it looking sharp, we’re here to help.

Play defense

Water damage is a primary concern for many commercial properties. Over time, water can seep through even the tiniest of cracks, leading to potential structural damage and costly repairs.

At JKI, we offer waterproofing, coating, and caulking services to ensure that water can’t seep in, but there are other ways to play defense when it comes to protecting your building.

Keep it clean

By keeping your concrete in pristine condition, you ensure there is no hidden cracks or other issues with the building. Over time, concrete accumulates dirt, grime, and moss. Pressure washing is an effective method to get rid of these impurities.

Ensure the pressure setting is suitable for your concrete type to avoid any unintentional damage, but don’t do so too often, as this can also damage the concrete.

Fill small cracks

Minor cracks can be a precursor to more significant problems. Epoxy or concrete filler can be used for small cracks. Ensure the surface is dry and the filler is smoothed out to be level with the rest of the concrete. Always wear safety gear, including gloves and safety glasses, during this process.

Consider a resurfacing

For concrete showing signs of wear on the surface but is still structurally sound, consider resurfacing. Concrete resurfacing can give your old concrete a fresh, new look. This is something we do for clients on a regular basis, so we’d be happy to talk about the options you have.

Seal it up

After any service, it is always a good idea to seal the concrete. A quality sealer can protect your concrete from water infiltration, stains, and UV rays. It also brings out the rich color of newly restored concrete, adding to its visual appeal.

There are many things you can do to make your concrete look freshly dried, ranging from fully DIY to professional grade. If you need help making your building’s old concrete look new, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and structural safety, we are here for you.
