Preventing water infiltration
There is a lot of work involved when preventing water damage in commercial buildings.
All building materials can get worn down, and the more deteriorated masonry or concrete gets, the more it becomes prone to leaks and water infiltration. Water can cause cracks to worsen, and masonry joints can become ineffective.
We specialize in all forms of masonry rehabilitation. After we make the necessary repairs, we can add joint sealants and waterproofing membranes, or we spray water repellents to maximize the longevity of repairs and prevent deterioration. That’s just what happens on the visible parts of the building.
Below ground, drenched soils push against the building’s foundation and structures. Dirt will naturally shrink while moisture saturates the soil, causing unwanted stress on structures. JK Industries, Inc. does below-grade waterproofing. This process typically includes:
- Excavating dirt away from the structure
- Cleaning the foundation
- Making repairs to the concrete
- Installing a waterproof membrane to the substructure
This process eliminates the source of any leaks and deterioration caused by below-grade water infiltration.
